Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) i.e Assam Rifles, Border Security Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Sashastra Seema Bal and National Security Gaurds have pledged to undertake a massive plantation drive during the forthcoming monsoon plantation season. The trees to be planted would be of indigenous varieties having long life as well as good health benefits. In total, more than 1.37 crore saplings will be planted on the land available with the Forces as well as in their surrounding areas throughout the country.
All the State Governments/UTs have been requested to provide the required number of saplings to CAPFs deployed in their respective states. CAPFs have appointed appointed Nodal Officers at State and District level for undertaking this drive successfully.
CAPFs have meticulously worked out their action plan for Plantation drive – 2020. For this purpose, State level Nodal officers from CAPFs are contacting the State Forest Department and District level Nodal officers are contacting District Forest officers for their requirements of saplings.
So far 81,08,032 Lakhs saplings have been planted till 31st August 2020 throughout the country under Plantation Drive – 2020 by CAPFs.
